When an AI system solves a math problem that used to belong only to specialists, I read it as a compliment to human mathematicians, not a betrayal. It is not pulling the answer out of thin air. It learned from textbooks, proofs, lecture notes, and scratch work. Newton wrote to Robert Hooke in 1675 that if he had seen further, it was by standing on the shoulders of giants. A system that reasons about a proof is standing there too, on centuries of human research. We are the giants.
The human process is the product. Suppose a system says X + Y + Z = 42. On its own, that means nothing. The number 42 has no purpose until a person gives it one. Someone has to choose what to measure, frame the question, and decide what to ask next. An answer is a moment. The questions, the framing, and the work are what move a field forward.
The door is open. If you are on a proof, a model, or a question you cannot stop thinking about, keep publishing.
